Awesome morning

Post by DH_72 » November 17th, 2005, 5:33 pm

Got a 120in. 8pt. this morning. Saw first buck a little before 7, shot at him and missed. I flinched like a little pu$$y when I shot. Felt like an idiot. He looked to be a really nice 8. About an hour after that, my buck came walking through and shot him at 50 yards. I saw him crash, but still thought I'd give him some time. So, I'm sitting in the deer stand and a super nice 7pt. came walking by on almost the exact same trail as the one I shot. The bucks were definitely on the move this morning. I saw the moon still up in the sky as I was walking to my deerstand, so I figured it'd be a good morning.

THanks Hobie. It's actually north of where I live, close to Fulton and Columbia. Been seeing lots of nice bucks from that stand bowhunting, but never close enough for a shot. I know where I need to move it for later this year/next year. Was definitely looking forward to first chance w/ a gun in there. Had about a 500 yard drag outta the woods. Not as bad as what you had, but it wasn't very much fun dragging him outta there.
