MDC does need to find a way to focus the deer killing in the right parts of the state. A two week solid gun season with muzzle loaders included would be better imo.



I am against going totally with slug guns though. I gots too much invested in long guns for the chit to play out like that.



I also predict I will kill another deer in the next two weekends with the bow. I haven't so much as picked my bow up since 11-7.

I predict that I will sacrifice one day of duckin next Sat. in order to fill the freezer with Bambi meat. I also predict that the slickheads will be rousted from fencerows, and shot like rabbits. I 'm lookin' forward to it. It's like a bigassed arcade game.

It's not really a formal drive. Just 2 dudes walking either side of a grown up fencerow, and killin' does. We're pretty stealthy about it, so even though most shots are at running deer, they're close, so it's fairly easy shooting.

Last year it took me all of 20 minutes to put two on the ground. We've hunted these same fencerows for years, so we can pretty much rule out the unproductive ones.

I predict that Robin`s prediction is wrong. The big guy didn`t show this morning. Saw alot of does, but only one decent buck. I`m guessing all the bucks in the area are tending hot does somewhere.

170: Most all of our big deer are dead I believe. I have had some good luck in recent years the first week of December. Last year, however, it pretty much sucked donkey. I hope you do get that big mother fornicator.

I haven`t heard of many big ones being killed around here. Not like in years past. Come to think of it, I haven`t seen as many shooters as I normally do either. The gun hunters may work on em this weekend. Late season is usually well worth the time, and effort. The deer are still there, but other hunters are home where it`s warm. Robin and I have had some pretty good hunts in late December, and early January.

Weird season this year on this end as well. Seen good deer early season, granted I did not hunt much after getting my sammich but had my Dad, and landowner out quite a bit. Not as much movement and sightings in comparison to years past. I don't get it. GD PS neighbor has forked it up for whole lot of us.

Christmas party this weekend. Started a new job a couple weeks ago so I will probably attend for perception sake. Plan on hitting it pretty hard on weekends as much as I can get away with till season ends.

I forget, can we bowhunt and kill bucks during the extended doe ?

Archery equipment, you can use your second any deer tag after Nov 22 on a buck. If there are gun hunters around, you may want to wear some orange.



I've been staying out of the woods so far. There is a boarder line 8pt around, and LA wants me to give him a pass until next year. It's going to be rough after 2+hrs in 20 degrees to pass that sucker though.



I have a doe tag that needs filled, and am going to get on that this weekend, maybe next weekend if I fork up and get busted.
