Tick Farm Ghost Buck

Post by Rafe Hollister » March 25th, 2006, 4:38 pm

Nothing huge has been seen at the Tick Farm since my B.I.L. spotted one at the top of the hill late one night in firearm season '04 when he went up for cell phone reception. Out of hundreds of game camera pictures, we've never had any bucks over about 120". There have been signs of big deer the last few years. Here's some pics of some promising sign from this past season.

Two 4" diameter cedars from a rub line first seen in mid-October.

One night I stayed at the cabin the last week of December. It snowed about a half inch between 3 & 6 AM.

These tracks were left about 200 yards from the cabin. The arrow vanes are 4".

Surrender, Rafe. Ghost bucks have ruined many men, don't fall into his trap. If I were you, I'd hire someone to eliminate that deer, just to give you peace of mind if nothing else. Image

I got a box downstairs with about 20 sets of horns in it....ya see....I don't go look for ghosts....I shoot the real ones and then get back to duckin.

And...you got a pretty darn big foot for a little forker! Image

Have you set up any game cameras to catch this specific deer? If you find one of his bedding areas, and don't spook him to bad, you may be able to catch him there again during somesort of deer season.

On a side note, Thursday evening I saw a buck with new antler growth showing. Wednesday evening I saw a buck still carrying his spikes.
