What Do You Think?
What do you think we should do with the 12 million illegal immigrants In our country?
I think we should enforce the laws on the books. Deport the people that have violated our law. We should then proceed to build the wall that has been mentioned to force the want to be Americans to Immigrant to our country using the method that the law allows for.
Citizenship hopefuls are required to learn our history. Our constitution, our language, give up their foreign passports, give up their allegiance to their homeland and pledge allegiance to ours.
If they are not required to do it by the law what does that say to the ones that have done it correctly.
I myself would rather say welcome to America to someone that is not already a criminal.
Tell me what you think.

Re: What Do You Think?
Pretty good.
We need to secure the boarder first, no need in sending them back if they can just swim back on over the Rio Grande.
We need to make it illegal to hire or work with illegals. The harder it is to find a job the less incentive there is to come here.
Something also needs to b done about the medical bills of the illegal. I don't know that turning away the seriously sick is the right thing to do, but there needs to be a big change in just letting every Jose and Manuel who can walk through the door, in for free.
After those things are implemented, it is less appealing for the Mexicans to come and stay. That's when you start herding them back south of the boarder.
I've worked side by side with a few Mexicans, and they were good people, but if we don't stop this chit soon, it will bite us in the azs imo.

Re: What Do You Think?
Here is my $.02. The twelve million need to go back and start over and do chit legally. You could give some preference to those that have children that were born here, and are legal citizens, but they need to get on the books, and on the tax dole.
Warmouth, I agree that we need to secure the borders, and I have a rather morbid idea how to do that, and it would pay for itself.
Set up a boat load of .50 cal's on tripods, say every hun'erd yards apart. Put an electronic scope on it and equipe each station with pan, tilt, zoom capabilities. Now give each of these locations an IP address and set up a web site that would allow you to view and control, in real time, the station. Then charge a fee to access and use, and a per round charge for ammo. (That's to keep jerk-offs like snowflake from getting on there and just wasting ammo.) Then let cyber hunters patrol the border. Illeagals will never know if a station is manned or not. I guarantee that it would definitly deter unauthorized border crossings.

Re: What Do You Think?
C&C I think you have the right idea but, how about this instead, we place a 12ft tall concrete bunker every 500 yards with motion and heat censors attached to 180 deg rotation turrets topped with a 30 cal. mini-gun preset to a 2 second burst at anything that moves that is larger than a rabbit with a body temp greater than 98 deg. gets bursts until its mass is less than a rabbit. Every 3 days a platoon goes out and checks for maintenance and reloads the weapons. Using crossing fields of far there should not be any space where they could get through.

I agree. You gotta censor that heat down there. It just gets too dammed hot in the Sonoran Desert.

BJ,
Your idea is fine, but it doesn't allow for participation by the general public. This would allow for a greater sense of pride and involvement. Also, membership would help pay for the operation.

I like all of your Ideas better then the one I have heard is being advanced.
The guest worker program is the proposal that was being advanced. They will pay a fine for being in our country illegally and then be issued a green card.
It does not seem to matter what us citizens want.
It is a Kennedy -McCain bill.

Hummm....
Set up the first 300 yds north of the border as a free fire zone. Set up a series of bunkers 50 yds north of the zone.
Man the bunkers with volunteers. With the right setup the illegals wont know which bunkers are manned and which are empty.
The mexicans can call this game Rio Grande Roulette.

Re: What Do You Think?
SF these bunkers don't need to be "manned" with the auto tracking systems we have and the high speed servo motors the mini gun turrets could run automatically they should me put along the border within 50yds to get a good field of fire. The guns come with a 4000 round Magazine with an over lapping field of fire and the auto tracking set on each gun to respond only if it is the closest there should be lots of ammo. The only thing left to do is look for the buzzards.

Re: What Do You Think?
Ok C&C and SF upon further review, if these mini guns are mounted on a 12' high bunker that is 12'Sq there is a space of just over 62' around the bunker @180 deg.that the guns will not be able to shoot. So if the bunkers are more that 150yds apart their crossing field of fire angle will be too small for them to cover this space. Therefore I would recommend 150yds from center radius to center radius.
