Hunting tournament, deer and darts
World Hunting Association
WORLD HUNTING ASSOCIATION IS LAUNCHED
AS DESTINATION STANDARD FOR THE SPORT
Detroit, MI (June 6, 2006) ? The World Hunting Association (WHA) officially launched today as a global competitive sporting establishment dedicated to organizing and promoting the sport of hunting and conservation.
The WHA promises to take hunting to a new level by creating a competitive hunting tour, showcasing the sport?s finest hunters competing for hundreds of thousands of dollars in prize money. The 2006 inaugural world wide tour will kick off this fall in Gladwin, Michigan at the Lost Arrow Ranch.
Set up like a BASS tournament with sponsors, etc. Catch and release. Well, good idea, bad, other?

BPS summed it up perfectly. What a jackazz idea. Sounds like something Snowflake would do.
McLintock, great party, but no whiskey. We go home.

I thnk Poison Snake was born for this type of chit. Throwing rocks and acorns at deer is just a warm up for this, the main event, tournament deer hunting.

Sponsors are dropping faster than my IQ when I log on to this place. One sponsor even dropped a sponsoree that signed-on to participate in this fiasco. It reads like the WHA is already dead in the water.

But it was a long time ago, and it was just that one day.

I don't support the idea of the WHA tournaments either, course I am not a fan of tournament fishing either. I think the press release sounds somewhat hypocritical coming from BPS. They certainly support commercialization and expoitation of the outdoor sports on the fishing side of things.
If they thought that there would be grass-roots support for the idea and no protests from PETA, they would be right there supporting those WHA tournaments with their "Redhead" emblems pasted everywhere.

I cannot believe that these guys thought the general public would go for something like this. Who in their right mind would find it entertaining to see animals being tranquilized with darts?
170,
Where did you find info about the sponsors for this thing?

I think they should shoot them with rubber blunts or judo points. I'm all about the WHA. Where can I sign up?

What's wrong with a good ol'fashion broadhead? Are they going to have these animals penned up or what? What's the point of not killing what they are shooting?

So it can be catch and release, and any time through the year, not just in the fall months.
I think KC could handle what you're talking about though, Keith. Just go with numbers, the more the better. Maybe make bucks over 8pt or 16+" spread worth 2 or something like that.

Not pens, but high-fence game reserves, and ranches.
You can find all you care to read on the WHA on archerytalk.

AimLow should join the WHA. They are used to shooting at tame goats. This would be a step up.

Smitty,
You need to get over having such a soft spot for goats.
