Not at the moment 170. Let's just say my uncle has one buck that would dang near take out two of your best.

So your uncle has a buck on his wall that will dang near go 340"? I`d like to see a picture of that one, 2B.

No chit Image Image Image

Total inches combined however I believe to be a different story. Not just good ole Uncle mike... on a side note he is good buds, hunts, and grew up with Stan Potts. Mike has several bucks 150ish, 164, 190, several 140's. Not to mention his early years in killing many 120 - 130 inch years. He deserves it though, worked hard, bought a real nice piece of heaven. He is quite anal ( you queers have some fun with that one ) about what is allowed to be taken off this place. Providing sanctuary in certain areas they are known to bed. He thins the heard by taking does here and there to keep the buck to doe ratio optimized.

I could go on and on with three buddies that have so many 140 160 inch deer it would make most of us salivate beyond reason. Granted they live in monster buck haven with lots of funnels in and out of corn, beans, alfalfa, and clover. A big wood lot in these areas is 50 acres. The bowhunting is much better that what we have here in Missouri.

Point being, ain't none of us at that level. Cept maybe, and I mean maybe 170. Your king on this board. QDM should be adopted by those who have the land to acheive the goals, have the knowhow, and desire to allow a few 130 - 140ish deer walk. I however am not near the level myself but I do pass on deer most wouldn't Image

Ok short legs-heres my.02
So you ain't kilt no biguns yet and yer soundin like ya got a little mud on yer skirt.
(seems like all short ones got some kinda chip on thier shoulder-some just bigger chips than others)
Well this might make ya feel a little better-im gonna clear this up for ya.
Well you know me better than most on this board and i have probably killed well over 100 deer in my lifetime but i haven't killed any big ones either.
It's not that i wouldn't like to, but thier is only 1 variable that keeps me from doin so.
It's not lack of skill-heck-most other hunters i know that have killed bigun's can't even tell ya the difference between aromatic sumac and poison ivy.
The fact of the matter is if yer not huntin-on-or in a place where trophys exist then yer not gonna kill one-period.
In otherwords locatin is the key-if you got a prime farm in MO-KS or iowa then yer chances are pretty good for doin such-even if your a first timmer.
One you have the skills it takes then it's pretty much a matter of location with some luck on yer side also-including your uncle in lincoln log land.
So with that being said-why don't give ol unc a call and see bout gettin in the right spot. Image

Don't forget to put a clean skirt on before ya go. Image

Don't be skeert to as him either-you were never skeert to ask me for anything. Image

Member the time you asked me for an exta high chair when we was gettin ready to eat and made my youngin get out of his so you could see what you was eatin. Image

Image Image Image Image Image Image Image Image You are spot on their buddie, as usual. In fact you would know exactly where he is at being from Decatur and all. He took a 16 point off the Clinton power plant draws when it first opened. They actually had filmed what they believed to be the biggest whitetail ever filmed alive on the hoof. If he had ever been taken they claim it to be a world record. He is off of hwy 31 ( I think ) just west of clinton headed toward lincoln. I have hunted up their several times on his prop. Just got to be to high priced for me + I can't follow his rule sets. I would have eventually got myself in trouble.

On the other note, you boy was about done eatin anyway. Just why the fork is your table so dang high anyway ? Image

When you say you can't follow his rules, does that mean when you tell him your commin up he goes to the garage and gets out the sign?

You know the one-like at the rides at six-flags...

If yer not taller than this sign-your not ridin. Image Image Image Image

I'm guessin Gloria don't give a rats A about no sign. Image

KF is right. Luck and location are the key to killing big deer year in and year out. Patience as well.

PS it seems that Patience is something 2B is SHORT on.
I believe he is getting a little impatient with you not PMing him and telling him that you would like for him to hunt the HFA next week when he comes up to mo. land. Image

Ya know short ones are flat landers-they should never move off to a place where they have to leave for thier stand twice as early as they normally would because of the steepness of the terrain. Image Image

They just end up taking twice as many steps and spend twice the energy gettin there... Image

That silly SOB is driving up here and passing through two whitetail meccas, western KY and IL. But, he does know the terrain up here I guess.

Oh, and don't be making fun of flatlanders you silly donkey.

Oh, and how has my son and momma doing these days?

The deer are definitely hopping on the Sanctuary and HFA these days. I'm closing on the chateau this afternoon or I wouldn't be here. Then, I have to teach tomorrow morning. I'll be on a stand by 10am, however.

And i'm not so sure it's yer son anymore-the ears just don't look right and they don't wistle in the wind when he sticks his head out the truck window. Image

Probably be a good day to be on stand mid-day tommorrow.
Saw a doe feedin by the edge bout 1:00 today and several this eve in the cut beans.

Oh-and yea yer right-he is goofy. Image Image Image

Carrying a gun isn't about killing.
It's about staying alive.
