I have a new man activity.

Guns, ammo, bows, tree stands, decoys, etc.

I have a new man activity.

I built a gong out of saw blades (18" and 8")hung one in front of the other, and placed them 170yds out. Shooting these things with my .22 is flat out awesome. Somewhere around 3' of drop, lots of windage needed, and a satisfying CLANG, when you hit the mark.

I can already see that I'm going to have to get a smaller gong to place in front of the 8" saw blade.

I was planning on putting it at 200yds, but the bad bird tree is at 170yds, so I want to get good at that range.

Yes, its at our place. Its about half way between the house and the pond. We have plenty of acreage.

It's not just a man activity. Image The gong sounds much like a large bell. It is actually a lot of fun. I went three for five. I, obviously, need practice. Image

MoCraig - Glad you could find the time to help LA out with her shooting skills. Image

LA and I were on a killing spree yesterday. I threw a hawk into the road, she killed a g-hog next to the garden spot, and then I killed a coon and a possum last night that were trying to get into the trash.

I arrowed a groundhog yesterday evening. Shot a little low & shaved its gonads.

Yes Craig, its the best kind of fun.

I'll have to tell you about the coon and possum sometime though. I'd say I felt bad, but the trash raiding bastards need to know who they're dealing with.
