Congrats, Kristen.

Robin, have you had any luck this fall?

It's been horrible in my neck of the woods.

I have killed two okay bucks. One with bow, one with a gun. The gun kill was my first in 10 or more years. It has been an ubelievable season as far as the footage we have gotten. The pix of mine are in our journal, http://www.aimlowproductions.com/journals_hunting.shtml

Tim,

I know Robin hasn't figured out the whole posting pictures thing yet so I will help him out. Here are a couple photos:

I'm giving him the benefit of the doubt. You may be right about that bottom one though.

...the obvious lack of effort for a good photograph doesn?t help either.

Can't tell who's neck is more swollen? Is Robin in full rut?

What do you figure those will score?

Not much Craig. Warmouth has it about right, except the gun kill is slightly bigger than the bow kill. The bow kill had longer beams, but less on everything else. I have never been much on scoring deer...I have 3 bucks on the wall that I don't know the real score of. I guess the bowkill is 112 and the gun 115.

I was pretty disappointed in my decision to shoot the bowkill, until I was out the rest of the days leading up to gun season and no other chances came along other than the half rack that Eric shot. My initial disappointment was more with missing out on some great hunting to come than the size of the buck...but that great hunting never did come.

The gun kill was a true, walk up to it and say WTF, ground shrinkage buck. I passed a bigger buck up right at daylight, a 125 inch 8 that was 40 yards for several minutes. Also couldn't quite get on a 140's buck mid morning. Then that buck stepped out almost under us and a quick look said shoot. Had 2 guys running cams and all three of us thought 130 after he ran off and died. Should've took more time I guess...but there was not time, so shoulda coulda woulda...sammich bucks for me so far this year and it won't be the last.
