Florida's season has started. How's 'bout we take a trip for some Osceolas?

I got the walnut call out for a while the other day JT. The acrylic striker makes it sing the best.

There's three toms that I've been keeping an eye on. They don't seem to bright....now.

They should be a good match-up for you, Dave.

I was hoping for a tone deaf one with a lazy eye and a bad leg. I might be able to roost shoot one like that, if I work at it.

I saw a large flock of turkeys yesterday in St. Charles County- the toms were already fanning and strutting. I have pics at home but haven't downloaded from the camera- will post up tomorrow.

Seeing those turks with the houses in the background reminds me of the old place.

It actually reminds me of the Longview Farms area (now Winterset) in Lee's Summit- however I know this was taken in Eastern MO on the edge of a very busy street. Still nice to see them fanning out this early.

I lucked into my tone deaf half blind turkey this morning. I didn't even have to call much, just a few clucks and purrs, then pulled the trigger about 7:45.

That is in the pic to verify that it was actually me that stumbled into a bird, and not a pic of some random jerkwad that isn't me's bird.

Nicely done WM. Be honest, you cut down his roost tree in the dark and killed him with an axe didn't you!?!?

I'll never own up to anything like that, whether someone catches me doing it or not.

:rotfl: Seriously though, nice job on the bird. Ours threw me for a loop by changing their roost site. They are now roosting right against the bluff behind the house and flying across the Gasconade straight from roost and not coming back across until roosting again. No way to hunt them until they change their patterns again!
