FIL got one Monday

He shot a big doe. This is a record for him--2 years in a row where he's taken a deer.

He & his friend drove up the hill from the cabin and hadn't even made it out of the truck when this doe came busting out of the neighbor's place. When it stopped to look back, he shot her and she dropped. Then a button buck came out chasing her. Before they could get to her, the bb mounted her. It didn't get off her until they were within 5 yards.

I guess they could tell from 5 yards away the bb was getting off?
