Anyone ever hear of him. He is a noted deer biologist that travels all ove the US giving talks on deer hunting. I got to attend one of his talks last Friday night.

I've seen him on the Outdoor Channel. That is about it.

There is not a lot of rocket science to killing big deer. Just make enough money to buy a farm in KS or southern IA and you have half of the problem solved.

especially when you have grad students tracking all the deer for you (not you ps, but Grant). He said the deer down here couldnt survive on acorns....now how in the heck have the deer survived this long down here. He said he burned off the cedar glades and put chicken shit compost down so he could plant food plots and the such....

I was wondering how do you get a doctorate in deer management? must be about as easy as the one PS got, huh?

My wife would probably say I have spent enough on bass fishing to have earned a doctorate in it as well.

If I had 1500 acres to manage in southern MO, I'd sell it and buy as man acres in IA as it would bring. I wouldn't have to spread chicken chit in IA either, so the bennefits are obvious. Buying land on both sides of MO/IA state line road wouldn't be a bad idea either.

That mother fornicator doesn't deal with chit on the molecular level. Screw that chicken chit spreadin' sum bich.

I e-mailed "Dr. Deer" (aka asshole James Kroll) a few years back with an idea of performing neutron activation analysis on samples of whitetail deer racks across North America so that we could get a molecular blueprint of the mineral content of areas where big bucks are frequently harvested. Never heard from that bastard.

No kidding? I can`t imagine why he wouldn`t reply to that

If that SOB is interested in big deer, then you would think he would like to think more about it than just putting in good food, letting them age, and having decent genetics. At the very least he could have sent me a "hell no". I've known fellows that attend his seminars and they say he is the biggest ass in game management today. Worse than Rob Keck even.

The way I looked at it was that he was at lowly Stephen F. Austin State U in east TX. How in the fork he made a name for himself coming from that hellhole is beyond me. But, he buddied up with the south TX folk and had a PhD after his name and the rest is history. I don't believe I have ever read a single bit of good information from that guy ever. He ain't telling me chit that I cannot figure out on my own. I would hope his CV has a publication list more extensive than NAW. In fact, I'm going to look him up right now. Haven't done so in about 5 years.

I could make that sum bich look smart. But, if he don't wish to play, that is fine. One of these days, I'll do it on my own. Start with a MO/IL study and go from there. Right now I'm too busy solving the problems of the world to spend time forking with something neat.

I just looked at some of his books. Funny thing is that he has either the title "Dr." or "PhD" before or after his name in all instances. Must make him feel like a fart smeller.

PS, most of us don't deal with or understand chit on a molecular level much less even know what the fukc that means. What I do know is that all those "assholes" you describe are interested in one thing.....marketing themselves and products, It doesn't matter WTF the science is if it doesn't sell deer cocaine or some other bullchit hunters buy. Look at that C'mere deer chit that Hank Parker hawks..........he makes me puke. fork em all.

PS, I think the study you propose would be really neat.

Seriously Snake, you don`t have to know shit to make it in the hunting industry. All you have to do is be full of bs, and get the less-than-average hunter to buy into it. Perfect example is that douche Greg Miller, and the Buttmaster Jackie Bushman.

Well, after looking JK up, I decided you boys were spot on. All he is doing is promoting himself and chit he is selling. I don't want to make it in the industry. I want to do a study that I feel would be cooler than chit. I've got an appointment at a nuclear reactor. It would be neat to get samples from across the nation to assay. I think that would be easy enough. One of these days I'll do it. You can rest assured of that.

You could really kick some serious ass in the whitetail world doing something along these lines. Oh, and I'm talking from an academic standpoint. Ain't none of them sum biches that can do a study along these lines.

PS, I thought you were going to get up in a tree rather than solving the worlds problems.
The guy I was talking about is also a phd but in deer biology, and I really dont know where he got it from. I didnt even know there was a phd in that. Most of the stuff he was talking about was pretty common knowledge like if you kill a small buck he wont be grow up to be a large deer...no chit sherlock....He must have been thinking on the upper two tiers of the Maslow's Heirarchy on that one. Kind of like Samcro.
That's funny you don't look Druish.
