Not the best field photo of all time, but it shows the far field edge that I was sitting on.

I agree with CRO. Those are some trophy red x's! Great hunt though Dave. Was it tough going with a new hat? I am going to have to part with mine after the season and get a new one. gonna be tough.

SAMCRO wrote:Pics, Dave. We need pics.

Although I believe guns to be the tools of girls and first time hunters, and any deer shot with a gun to be no more impressive than a road kill, I'd like to see this one.

You left out video hunters desperate to get a kill on film, Craig.

Anxiously awaiting pics.

I did find my hat from September, thank GOD!

Like I said before, these were all long shots, and I had the familiar volley of 5+ shots on the next property over, and then 10 minutes later this guy is hauling along the field edge I was watching. Connected on 2 out of 3 shots around 280yrds.

Saw a ton of deer and could have shot does at 250-300+ all weekend. It was fun to not only let myself shoot that far, but to be comfortable and successful in doing so. I just played the wind and sat on the grounnd back against a tree, with a monopod to steady the shots.

The biggest thing I did right was to hunt in north MO and be able to shoot worth a crap. I do have a rack from 2005 taken from this same field with very similar characteristics, weird mass, double brow tines, narrow spread etc. This guy has 3+yrs on that smaller buck from '05 though.

Yeah, he's unique. One of the stickers on the back of his base is a flat shelf that is just a 1.25" square. If I knew how to score the oddities better I'd have more confidence in pronouncing it "149" or whatever, but anyway, he's a nice one and I'm glad I had a chance at him.

Congrats on the red X, Warmouth. As for the other pics, they are too large of data for my phone to view.

Is that kind of like those little tags that put on clothes now....any variance in color or design is not a flaw, it is "character"? :jmplgh:

Nice deer Dave. No kills here.....haven't seen a buck this year that'd pass antler restrictions and only 2 does that were big enough to shoot. WTH did all the mature deer go to this year?

WTF, Dave...what`s up with that hat? I know you have a nice Bowtech hat.

Really nice buck. I like the way those main beams sweep forward. Is he going on the wall?

Thanks guys.

Yeah, I'll put his antlers on the wall, but I'm waiting for a big one before I do a shoulder mount.

I really didn't think the rack would score nearly this well, I was figuring 130's. I usually over estimate bucks during gun season, so its nice to under estimate one and have him end up bigger than I suspected instead of smaller.

My biggest to date is 149-6g 144-7n, so this one coming in at 149-2g was kind of shocking.

I'll get a 150 someday.
