Happy Birthday Greetings

Post by coyotewhacker » March 22nd, 2005, 8:17 pm

This is almost a duplicate of one I put up in the Hunting Lodge, but I figured the fishing guys would want to join me in observing the 25th Anniversary of the founding of that most loveable organization, People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals, or PETA as we usually call them. This monumental occasion would have passed unnoticed but for those sharp folks at FOX News. We all know that a large percentage of their members are insanely misguided, while the remainder are merely insane, but at the same time you gotta have a measure of respect for some of their more attractive lassies who strip down buck nekkid, wearing nothing but a banner that proclaims "I'd rather show fur than wear it." Almost makes me want to go to an animal rights rally if the best looking ones will be there with just the banners. Plus you gotta be really tough to stand around buck nekkid in this cold weather. Anyhow, the old Coyotewhacker extends an invitation to all the hunters and fisherpersons here to join with me in wishing our friends at PETA a warm and hearty Happy Birthday from all of us. Doesn't matter if you hook, stick, spear, stab, shoot, blast, snag, jerk, impale, or use multiple methods to put the protein on the table, it's only proper to observe this historic day in American history. HAPPY BIRTHDAY, PETA!

darn CW you gotta let everyone on this entire forum know about PETA huh?

Why don't you just tell us what you think of your membership there since you seem to know so much about them. Or on the other hand how about pissing on anything that PETA does. The whole concept about animal rights just about sicken the chit out of me personally. Yeah I am a duck but why do I need rights?

I do as I please, and no hunter is every going to shoot me down. The flights are lengthy and exciting at times but nothing to write home about.

But hey this isn't about me it's about an organization that strangely finds fund to support their movement.

Donald, my 1st post was a direct remark to CW's post. You was able to slip your post in before I hit enter. I have absolutely no interest in coaxing CW into further discussion on this particular matter with you or myself. His posts are long and wordy, my attention span is short and simple Image Image

Well, actually CW did take some offense, but the post was intellectually disconnected and I could not make any sense of it, so I deleted my reply in the interest of maintaining harmony on the board. If you meant no offense, CW took none.
The birthday observance is over, and hopefully we won't hear any more about those folks for a long time. Image

This morning, I heard them mentioned on the radio.

It seems their latest idea is to replace the running of the bulls in Pamplona with an event involving the men running from naked women. ( I'm not making this up ) Image

I never thought I'd say this, but it's an interesting idea. I'm bettin' the pace of the runners wouls slow considerably. Image As long as the women weren't in the same weight class as the bulls. Image

Now THAT might make CW get a plane ticket to Spain. They gotta show who the naked women are gonna be,,,some of those bull weight class gals are more terrifying than the bulls.
