Truman Tailrace
Truman Tailrace
Another good week of fishing at the Tailrace. The crappie are in the early stage of the spawn. This translates as some are catching the heck out of them and others having to still work to find them. The common thing I am hearing from those who are finding at least a few is that they are BIG. Nice to hear after last year being so tough to find keepers. Whites and hybrids are on the bite as well. Even a few being caught on topwater the last few days. Cats continue good, though I've not heard of any over 20 lbs. this week. The weather forecast calls for temperatures to dip a little this weekend. It will be interesting to see what this does to the spawn. We'll just have to stay tuned. Word is the crappie are moving on and off the banks up on Truman. Catch a few then they move out, then come back in again. So I'd guess the best bet is to keep moving.
