Update on gun dilema...
Well, as I mentioned, I was thinkin bout a new gun. After much consideration, I decided I don't really have any call for a 3.5" duck gun. So, after fondling many new ones... I fixed the old Ithaca 51. I just didn't find anything (in my price range) that felt any better to me, so I couldn't justify it. I reckon I'll jus keep pluggin along wif it until I can get something that I REALLY want (ie. a new SBE or Gold), that ain't right now though wif the twins on the way... and such.

Yeah, it felt OK(as good as the Gold actually) and the price was certainly right ($475.00 camo-ed @ BPS), but it didn't feel any better than my Ithaca. The mistake I made was... I also picked up the SBE and SBEII. They both felt right!! That's when I decided I should wait.

Benelli
One day, long, long ago, there lived a woman who did not whine, nag, or bitch.
But it was a long time ago, and it was just that one day.

Hobie,
Glad to hear the gun issue is resolved. I was worried I was gonna have to share, and I don't do that so well. Just look at my grade school report cards. It says so. BTW, hows the boat progress?

McLintock, great party, but no whiskey. We go home.

I'll tell ya they are sweet!!! Normally, I wouldn't have had a problem droppin $1200 down and walkin out wif one. But since we got the twins on the way and Momma has quit workin to be a stay-at-home-mommy-of-three, now it takes a little more plannin.

Here one for ya. What's your opinion on a Charles Daly autoloader. It's the Field Hunter VR-MC Advantage Hardwoods. A buddy of mine is offering to sell me his for $250.

Re: Update on gun dilema...
They're junk. If ya want a nice gun for the money, like TTN said, the Stoeger 2000 is a good one. The only reason I didn't get one is I fell in love wif a Benelli and I already have a serviceable autoloader.
I think you could get a black synthetic Stoeger for around $400 new if ya look around. Also, Berretta has the A390 (Wally World special) in black synthetic that you can get for $525. I would suggest droppin the extra cash and gettin one of those.

Re: Update on gun dilema...
Wasn't really planning on getting a new gun this year. He just approached me, and asked if I would be interested in buying it. If I decide to upgrade from the cornshucker, I was thinkin' Stoegger or Benelli. Gotta save my nickles first.

Maybe you'll win a shotgun at the Delta dinner/auction on August 12 in St. Charles.
