Truman Tailrace

Post by Jenny » June 24th, 2005, 3:18 pm

The water has been running all week at The Tailrace and the fishing has been good as a result. Crappie biting well, though still reports of lots of small ones. Chartreuse Slab Hunter continues to be best bait. Whites fair to good- particularly in the evenings . Hybrids showing up here and there, I heard of one 14 lbs caught a few days ago, what a monster!. Catfishing has been the hot ticket this week by far. Lots of fish in the 30's and a few 20's and 40's. I suppose they are finally coming off the nest, and hungry at that. The water has been running, and they are really hitting well. Shad has been best, but they are hitting on a little bit of everything this week. Weather is predicted to stay hot... you just have to jump in every once in a while to fix that. Probably better run over to the beach though or you may find yourself headed to Bagnell with the water running the way it has been.
