Three of us endured the heat to fish for crappie and kept 31 9 3/4 -12 inchers. Fish were found 17-18 feet down and caught of jigs tipped with minnows, tightlining, many hitting as the bait fell into the zone. One had to be alert or he would come up with an empty hook, the bite was soft. We caught turtle,bass,bluegill and drum plus a bunch of short crappie. Had a good time and saw some old friends on the lake. But wait I think I have another bite!
