Aim Low's recent kills and updated site look

Post by Robin@AimLow » October 11th, 2005, 3:35 pm

You may want to check out our new website look. We are still playing around with it, especially the colors and graphics. Let us know if you do or don't like it.

Also, for those interested, I finally was able to draw some blood... Journal

Those deer are bigger than you are. BTW, does don't count unless you hit them with rocks or acorns.

Oh, and the website looks good.

Both were good does. Weren't 180 lbs or anything, but good ones. Bigger than me doesn't mean much. Whether they count or not, I will shoot a few more.

I've always wanted to get a two-fer with my bow. Great job.

One question, did your folks not feed you when you were a kid? Just curious.

I hope you guys kill a buck or two so that the video is at the very least interesting. I don't want to watch a bunch of nanny goats being whacked.

BTW, I tried to throw a ringer with my hat onto a buck's head on Sunday morning but he was too slick for me. That little bastage was making some of the weirdest noises I have ever heard.

I had a 2'fer lined up last season but didn't punch it up quick enough. My son is afflicted with the same abnormality, so I guess it is genetic.

PS, were were thinking we would just put out a "Monster Does, Vol I" DVD.

I'm just a regular size fella myself. The two-fer is cool though.

I just don't understand covering the wound with something. Who are you hiding it from?

The public at large. Besides, now the deer just look like they are sleeping.

If he was taping pics up at the supermarket, I could understand covering it. Otherwise, the people viewing it are more than likely going to be hunters. Anyone else should just look away.

First, that pic looks flat stupid with that darn green leaf. That is definitely not what we need to be trying to do.

Second, it is very simple. Sponsors, potential sponsors, and editors want tasteful, good pix in natural settings. A guy can go out and kill a 150 every year for 10 years straight. If all he has to show is a mount and some bloody pix of those bucks in the back of his pick up each year, no one is going to pick him up, and no one is going to publish his photos.

Now, before everyone flames me because it is about business...my above statement is true. However, you can look thru my pix from past years and you will see good blood free pix. I just enjoy looking back at what I consider a "good pic". Same for my fish pix.

And lastly, you are wrong about only hunters looking at our pix. We get bunny hugger hate mail on a regular basis. There is no need for us to post a doe laying there with a gaping hole in her armpit to fuel them even more. Ya, I agree with the fact that I don't have to care what they think, but I will do what I can to avoid problems.

I was discussing this on another site, and a good pic. with minimal blood/gore is the way to go. The gore detracts from the animal and hunter and does nothing but draw the viewers focus away from what is intended to be the subject of the pic.

I don't even take pictures unless it has 8 scorable points on it's rack. Now, I do regret not having some pictures of several of the deer I have killed. Didn't get a picture of the bobcat either and I wish that I had.

On another note, I'm not gonna bash you one way or the other. But, I'm darn glad I don't have to worry about what a sponsor would think. I hunt for myself. Oh, and to kick the piss out of all of my peers. Image Image

I didn't notice the leaf.

PS when have you ever kicked the piss out of your peers in hunting? Maybe in cutting yourself, dropping guns, or falling out of trees Image

Aimlow, I think you guys are really taking the high road and the pics look great Image
