New to St Louis Area
New to St Louis Area
This season for me has been a bust. Starting a new job in the middle of the season along with a move has limited my chances of getting out in the field so I am hoping some kind soul will give me some sort of idea or at least an area to start looking, on where a new guy can find a decent shoot around the Valley Park area south of the city. Also, if you are looking for a hunting buddy, I need to find one also, got a 14 ft jon boat, dekes etc, been hunting for about 30 years all over these United States of America. Thanks for the info ahead of time for those serious responders.

Get involved.
Get with the local Chapter of one of three groups...Missouri Waterfowl Association (www.mowaterfowl.org), Gateway Chapter of delta Waterfowl (DMR should be able to get you the web address) or DU (www.moducks.org..I think). Get active and meet folks.
Show up at get togethers off of these boards and get to know folks.
Most on here and the other boards aren't going to hand information out to anyone and everyone...but once they put a face to a name and get to know people, they begin sharing.
Welcome to the land of MO...condolences it has to be the St. Louis side

Thanks dabs, appreciate the info. And thanks for the sentiment, not much too big on the big city life, but you gotta go where the job is.

dabs, excellent advice! Lots of great people in the st louis area, unfortunately I am in center of state, rick is on the west side. you are going to have to travel a few miles or buy into an existing club. lots of public waters, but visit one of the above mentioned groups and get involved. bruce

BJD,
Don't listen to Dabs, he's a bitter man.
If you'd like ,I'll let you know when we have our next Gateway chapter Delta Waterfowl meeting. They's a few killas in that bunch.
That is........... if the committee hasn't disolved before our next meeting.
( Seriously, you're welcome to attend.
