Aim Low Turkey

Post by Keith@AimLow » April 24th, 2007, 11:47 am

After some pretty rough hunting this weekend for our crew, Robin decided to play hooky from work Monday and give it one more try before coming home. Larry the Camera Guy has been off after neck surgery so they took advantage of the opportunity. They also decided to throw the darn bow in the truck and pull out the shotgun. Here are the results:

11.5" beard and 1 3/8" spurs. 26 lbs.

I agree too Hobie, but I can tell you the chit works. Seems to me that's what camo was intended to do. 95% of the stuff out there today looks cool as heck but looks like a big blob in the woods or in a tree. It just comes down to what you want from your camo....fool an animal, or look pretty in pictures.

Keith, I know you`re supposed to say that kind of thing because they give you free stuff to do so, but I have never, ever blamed my camo for scaring an animal. I have been 8 feet from a buck wearing a blaze orange vest, and hat, and had a hen turkey walk by me within 12" of my boots. It has nothing to do with the camo.

Nice bird, btw. I can`t believe Robin caved, and used a gun.

But it was a long time ago, and it was just that one day.

You look at that picture and say the the camo is the ugly thing. Have you looked at what the camo is on?

Congrats on the bird

There is no telling what kind of camo I'll be wearing at any given moment. He11, I may be butt-assed naked up in the tree. For me, it is all about stealth. In fact, the B-2 was modeled after the PoisonSnake.

Tony, I am basing this on my experience of seeing what other hunters look like from a distance in the woods, fields, and other terrain. I can't say that it appears the same to animals, but I can honestly say it is tougher to see people wearing this stuff in the outdoors than anything else I have seen. I am not saying that because they are a sponsor...this is the honest truth.
