Hoe Down Update

Post by RB » June 23rd, 2008, 8:28 am

The few, the brave and the thirsty partied at the hoe down at Diggs on Saturday and Sunday. Good food, good talk and a good time. We had a visit Satuday night from the Sheriff and the possum cop looking for some guy who had been camping near the pavilion. They said he had a felony warrant out for him. Yours truly didn't witness that part because jet lag kicked my azz to bed. If you didn't come its your fault. Tiger Haze drove over from the west side and showed us how to play catch up with the beer. DMR did a breakfast burrito for all that was awesome.

Good to hear. I had the girls to keep me busy and LA was working. I know I miss that feed.
The Doctor said I should drink more whiskey. Also, I'm calling myself 'The Doctor' now.

It was great to meet everyone, even if I didn't show up until late. The weather was awesome. The fugitive made for interesting conversation with the local LEOs.

The DMR duck kabobs were excellent, and I missed out on some of the other grub but I bet it was just as good.

Sorry I missed a lot of you in the early morning but had stayed up late drinking and had to sleep it off.

Yessir, it was another fine outing.

The fact that there was smoked brisket and some of Roscoe's " meal in a roll " leftover is a testament as to how many dead critters were cooked. Hell, we didn't even touch the entire foil packet of dove breasts.

Good to meet you, TH. He and I were the last to leave, and no, nobody had shown up to claim the tent.

I had to come home and take a nap. I was tiiired !

After all the vittles on Saturday and the burritos on Sunday I didn't eat a thing until dinner and that was at 7. No way you can attend that hoe down and not get your belly full......and for me that's a lot.

Me and the youngun's had a great time. The red head said he is definitely on for next year, and the oldest said he'll be there for sure. They didn't even rat me out for lettin' them have a barley pop.

As far as turd makin' goes, the vitels produce two nice bowl fillers. The quantity and quality of vitals is always worth the trip. We didn't make it to that graduation party. After I got home, child number 4 required a trip to urgent care. Seems he came down with a pretty mean case of strep throat, and wasn't eating or drinking. We got a Rx for him and he should be on the mend in short order. Hopefully child 5 doesn't get it.

After I finished my nap, I didn't feel like cooking anything. So, I ate 9.00 worth of Jack-In-The-Box for supper. You talk about anti- climatic !

RB,

Thanks again for bringin' the fresh liquid chickens. I've never cooked breakfast over a chimney charcoal starter before, but I'd do it again.

Oh Yeah,

Enough with the fecal references. This chit's gotta stop. :P

My stomach is still rumbling. Probably from the dove breast chili I finished off this morning.
Good time had by all.
