You don't welcome the prospect of a river blind with a blind eye toward the inherent perils. There's some dynamics involved.
In a week or so, the river will once again feign benevolence. The biggest drainage on the continent shows no mercy, and has no conscience.
Meanwhile, we'll be cutting pin oak and willow brush, and have it ready to be boated to the blind. We'll load the boat, be hit by those damn flying carp on the way to the blind, arrive, and take care of what needs to be done.
The trade off ? We'll spend a buncha days this fall killing ducks and making memories that couldn't be attained by any other means.
Nobody's pointing a gun at our heads. We'd start over from scratch if there was no other way.
