Youths?

Post by Limbshot » October 28th, 2009, 9:42 am

Anybody taking a youth out this weekend? I'll be taking Limbshot Jr. our for his first deer hunt ever this weekend, and I am pretty excited about it. Had him shooting the old 30/30 the past couple weekends, and he is dead on with it! Now we just need to get one in front of him. Looks like we are going to sit and watch the turnip patch this weekend. The deer have been hitting it pretty good. Have a few different bucks coming in down there, nothing real big, but I think it gives us our best chance to get one on the ground. Good luck to anybody else heading out this weekend, be it with a bow or a youth thunderstick! Hope to have some pics to post on Monday!!!

I'll be taking my 40 year old self out this weekend unless I get lucky on Friday. Weather is looking great for next week. Sure, there is a full moon. But, bluebird skies and cool temps should have the bucks on their feet at all hours. I'm getting kind of stoked.

I hunted for 2 hours yesterday. I kept playing through in my mind what I was going to do in the event that this one specific deer showed up. He never showed, and, I'm kind of glad he didn't. I may have just whacked his ass.

You'd forget how to hunt if you shot another pig on the first effort this year.

Congrats on getting old PS, that shows some nice effort that you keep living. thumb2:

WM: I'm thinking I have 10-12 140-150" deer left in me before I die at the ripe old age of 100.

Truthfully, I'm seriously hoping I see a good one the first couple of days over on the HFA. Ifn' I have to bust my ass on all day sits, I ain't going to be pleasant to be around by about next Friday.

I'm shooting the first deer that I can make look close to 120" in some extreme pic angles. If I have to squat down 8' back from the sucker to make him look 118" I'm fully prepared and qualified to do it.

I just hope that I see something that gets me excited. Right now, I would settle for a hot naked chick walking by my stand at 20 yards.
