small quail
I was up at the farm today doing some brush hogging and I saw 2 coveys of young quail, 1 covey was about the size of chickadees and could barely fly. The other covey looked like mice running around on the ground, way too small to fly. Seems to be a very late hatch, I just hope they are big enough to...

Re: Quail
I saw some up at the farm yesterday that were so small they could just barely fly, they were only about 2-3 inches long from beak to the tip of their tail. This is the third hatch I have seen up there this summer.

Re: Autoloader question....
I bought a Stoeger for my wife to turkey hunt with and I took it out this year to shooot some doves and try it out, it worked flawlessly. I only ran 5-6 boxes thru it but never had problem. It just well as my SBE altho it doesn't fit me as well. I think it is a real nice gun for the money.

Re: OK, serious question here...
I have about the same deal wth my lab, but she is 9 yrs. old and I can't see spending that much money on her since she is that old. But I am not going to put her down because of it, she can still hunt a little and maybe she can help teach a new pup a thing or two next year. As long as she is taking ...

Gogop, What is the deal with a shed trap and how do you make one? I wouldn't mind putting one out on our property.

fish
It hit reelly fast at Truman, I was at Sterret Creek when it hit, the wind went from maybe 5 mph to its maximun about 2-3 minutes , really not any warning. The worst of it was over in 10 minutes.

Re: Anybody Ever have This Happen ?
I had it happen once in the duck blind, the brass came apart from the plastic, the brass ended up laying in the open chamber and the plastic was gone I assume it went out the barrel.

Re: Fishing Report from Sterett Creek Marina 4/6/04
I agree with what Jimdog said, I called down to Sterrett Creek last on fri. because I was thinking about coming down there and doing some crappie fishing and they told me I might as well wait til this weekend because they weren't really catching any. That saved me a trip down there. I usualyy go dow...

Re: good day of scouting
I went to scout in NEMO this and they were really gobbling good, heard the first gobble at 5:05 and they kept gobbling until 7:15 pretty good. I heard 10-12 birds and 8-10 of them were on the 80 acres we just bought last fall. http://www.outdoormissouri.com/ubb/images/graemlins/biggrin.gif http://ww...
