Snowflake, I will never call you names again....we are in the same boat with barn, house and HORSES. Only good thing is two of the three croaked this year but more will probably be on the way this spring. I'd post a pic of the log house but don't know how.

You will love it PS. We did alot of the work ourselves and could not have built a conventional house for the same cost. You've seen mine so you know what you can do with them. My deer stand is 60 yds behind the house.

Snowy, I will be nice and ask politely that you refrain from verbal attacks on Mr. Snake.

I plan for my deerstand to be in my house. From what we have seen, those things aren't cheap. My wife wants one, but I'm kindof skeered of the pricetag. Especially after the recent purchase of HFA#3. Of course, I'm selling HFA#2. Got a good deal. 16 more acres with only 8k to boot.

Well my barn loft is going to be my deerstand next year, so I guess the new barn isn't all that bad.....but I still hate horses.

Rainbow - How did your horses die? I might need some help in knocking off a couple of my wife's.

We don't know why one of them died. He was fine the night before and dead in the morning. Prolly a heart attack. He was 24. The other one was 29 and he had a stroke and kept falling down. The vet came out and shot this pink stuff in his neck and the sucker was toast in ten seconds. Snowy, if you knock em off she'll just get more. You have to learn how to trade horse stuff for female favors like I do.

PS, I have had shooting opportunities for deer and turkey from every room and window in my house. Turkey hunted out the back door one time in the rain. The other day had 3 doe 40 yds in front of the front porch. You can build a nice log home for an affordable price so don't be skeered. Only problem with them is the prices are going up just like other lumber prices.

I wish our horses would die of a heart attack.....I bet they could die of a mysterious case of "lead" poisoning though.

Too messy. Plus what are you going to do with a 1200 lb horse laying on your property. Too much evidence. I did have to get a local back hoe guy to dig the hole and drag him in. Only problem was the horse had rigor mortis and one of his leg was sticking up out of the hole. The guy fixed that wif the bucket. Glad the wife didn't see that one.

I thought you said you didn't know what was wrong with the horse. Image
