Geeez...what do we have here a bunch of helpless panty weights? Image Can we say Self Denial Image Image Image

I applaud Robin and I?m sure he?d be the first one to say a monkey can tune a bow and it has nothing to do with drop away rests or mechanical heads. It?s getting your Image off the couch.

90% of tuning a bow is done in the initial setup and long before ever launching an arrow. Mechanical heads and drop away rests are not compensation for the inability to tune a bow, an arrow or combination there of, and yes there is a difference in all three.

I prefer little person, thank you. I have a neck, it is just hidden behind my back and shoulder muscles. Image I don't understand the forearm dig, but hey, I can take it.

Tell you what Gutpile, you (or anyone else) on this site want a ZE, I will order it, give you a deal, and put it on for you.

Crap, now to think of it, I have only killed one deer so far this year. No wonder it felt so good to kill something down in GA! I bet ya I have a top 10 buck killed in IL this year though. Image

Mobuck,Gutpile, and Robin now what they are talkin about when it comes to bows.
I've done enough reading of this three to know that.. I take everything they say about bows to heart and make a mental note of what they say..

Robin how do yuo go about spining an arrow?? I have a few that jsut do'nt fly straight but when I look down the shaft there are no nick os bends..

And what do ya'll really think about the ZE setup??

I use them Rocky Mt. snyper heads on my arrows too jsut incase it helps to know there Robin..

I'll take that bet. Now, define top 10. Are you telling me that you will have that monster you have seen on your camera dead this fall? If that is the case, I will take your bet for sure. You are going off the deep end and pulling a TTTim here. However, I hope you do kill that monster. I want to see it. Big bucks like that come around once in a million lifetimes. Image

Toby: Tuning a bow is very easy if you go about tuning it with a bare shaft before you really start messing around with paper tuning. A lot of folks don't ever bother to read Easton's guide to bow tuning, etc... It is like a bible in my opinion. However, I am still a lazy ass. I will not spend my time shooting 50 different broadheads just to get one to fly. Nor will I spin each broadhead that I shoot. I never have had to do this in the past. Now, I have never had to worry about broadhead tuning, because I have always spent endless hours tuning everything else before shooting broadheads. I always spin my shafts, and they look fine to me. However, I really cannot tell when a shaft has a bit of wobble to it and I am pretty analytical. The reason I went to the Spitfires was primarily due to the success my brother was having with them. That, and I was lazy. Surprisingly, I have not had any troubles with them. Now, that is not to say a good fixed blade head is not better. That is for certain. I like the looks of these compact heads, and if they can save me a bit of grief and frustration, I will put those babies on and let them eat. TOS

Donny Boy, I spin my arrow either on an arrow spinner, or usually by just putting the bh on and spinning it like a top point down on a table or flat surface. It takes 2 seconds. My honest opinion of the ZE rest is that it is the toughest, most reliable, and quietest rest on the market.

Ole S, my bet is that up to this point, I have a top ten buck killed in IL for the year. Image

Why would you spend countless hours tuning and not spin your bh's? It takes seconds to do. I do not shoot a bunch of heads to find the ones that fly. If it spins straight, I know it will fly. Even with mech's, that may fly if slightly crooked, why would you not want your head to be aligned perfectly? What is the point of having an arrow tuned so precisely that it flies perfectly straight only to have a not so straight point on the end? When I shot aluminums, I had very few arrow/bh combinations that didn't spin good. When I shot A/C/C's, I had many, and spent alot of time re-aligning inserts. (That was the reason I gave up on them, too much $ for too much hassle.) With carbons, I glue my own inserts in, making sure they spin true before the epoxy dries. Pull a head out, screw it on, spin it on the tail gate or my hand, and stick it in the quiver. It will kill something.

Yeah you shot that pisser on the last day of this season, but it was the calendar year 2004, so chances are its one of the 10 best bow kills of this calendar year, either way its a good un...

Robin...we may just have to hook up. Does Renegade make a LH bow with a 32" draw???

He didn't shoot his on the last day of the season, I shot mine on the last day of the season. Robin, I spin them, but I don't know with certainty that I am doing it correctly, so I don't worry about it much. I have never had any problems with fixed or mechanical heads. They always fly the same as my field points, so I must be doing something right. As long as I don't see any erratic behavior in the fletching, I am fine. Now, that is not to say that one of my broadheads might miss by 1/2" from a particular field point, but I can deal with that. On another note, I never shoot my hunting arrows prior to hunting. That is just another thing I never do. In the last 8 or 9 years, I have missed 5 deer or less. Oh, and those were operator errors. One of those was this year and one was last year. I went 5 years without missing one and then missed a shot at 10 yards wide open. I too shot at TTTim's 8 spooked 8-pointer this year and thank goodness I missed.

BTW, with that IL buck, you were right. You have already won the bet. I knew there had to be a catch. Image

Gutpile, you can get any Renegade in LH, but only 2 of them have draws of 32" listed. One is a 40 inch a-a bow with a high brace ht produced mainly for finger shooters. The other may interest you, it is the "Nuge bow", 35" a-a and 9 inch brace ht. Super smooth draw and shooting. With your long draw, I think it would be an extremely forgiving bow with decent speed. I am not a fan of the camo, and if you weren't either I could talk them into a diff camo. The bow I shoot, TR-4 is listed as 31" draw max, but if you are really interested, I could probably get one custom made for you. I can't even imagine the performance of my bow with a draw length like yours.

Robin, I was checking out the website last night, I saw that giant ass bow with the super long draw, one of the options had a 35" draw?! Custom made me likes the sound of that.

I saw the nuge bow, it was some kinda ugly. I will have to think about it. May have to sell my current bow to make it work, but I like the idea of a 2nd bow for a backup and doing whatever with. I have a E-collar that I may sell to raise funds for the new rig.
