If you think the kid from Deliverance is good looking, then yes.

The first part of MOC's post is exactly why I say bullchit to those that claim as fact that the disease is always fatal. How does anyone know if you cannot detect it n live deer? You cannot know, and for all anyone knows, there are deer that have it their entire lives and do not die from it.

IMO, the disease has always been there, it just hadn't been tested for and/or detected.

The second part is exactly why I cannot understand the whole fear of feeding and baiting...they "believe" fluids spread it. They don't "know".

I usually say to the let the bioligists run the show, they should know. But with CWD, there are no facts to fuel the fire that was raging a couple of years ago.

There have been a couple of instances out west where they presumed a hunter had possibly died of either CWD or something very similar. But, as has been pointed out, I don't think they ever knew with certainty. The western states have lived with CWD for years. I think it is something that we may even be living with now. If not, it is only a matter of time. Wisconsin went apeshit on their deer herd when they found it. I don't think Missouri will do the same. IL has certainly not followed suit.

It pretty much has to be transfered from body to body somehow, but with the rate of infection, it can't be air borne or envronmental causes or the trasfer rate between animals would be higher. Bodily fuilds, or intake of bones or marrow with infection prions (similar to the bone meal with mad cow) really are the most likely ways the desease spreads.
